Making a Place for Children Child Care Facility Planning Manual

In 2002, Environmental Works developed a manual for architects, developers, and child care business owners on best practices for child care facilities in Washington State.

The manual addresses pre-development activities, the development process, regulatory requirements, interior and exterior spaces, and special considerations. It includes checklists, resources, and guidance on the formation of a vision for providing quality care for children from infancy through school-age.
