Meet DeAndre, Environmental Works’ summer intern. DeAndre comes to our office through the Seattle Youth Employment Program (SYEP). SYEP provides job training, work experience, and academic support to Seattle youth between the ages of 14–21.
DeAndre has been pitching in and helping EW with numerous tasks. His latest accomplishment has been model building. Learning how to; read architectural plans, use a scale, measure and cut tag-board, DeAndre built a model of one of our current projects – a 5,500 sq. ft. one-story licensed boarding home which will house 12 residents with traumatic brain injuries.
This fall, DeAndre will be a senior at Seattle’s Ingraham High School and plays on the football team. Keep up the good work DeAndre! We’ve enjoyed having you help us out this summer!
