Planning and Feasibility for the City of Seattle’s 88 P-Patches

P Patch Rejuvenation Project | Seattle, WA

The City of Seattle hired our firm to develop a report that would assess the condition of P Patch community gardens and work with Seattle Parks Department and P-Patch staff to identify major maintenance needs and prioritize ten of the existent eighty-five P-Patch sites for renovation. Throughout the project we worked closely with the Seattle Parks Department, the Department of Neighborhoods, and P-Patch staff to make sure each group’s priorities and needs were met. Staff from our team documented and scored each site on the criteria of Infrastructure, Neighborhood Demographics, Accessibility, Gardener Capacity, Safety/Security, and Physical Characteristics. The final report provided documentation and score for each site, the final ten recommended sites, and schematic designs for the top five recommended sites.
