Historic, Agricultural Nature Trail
Mercer Slough Parks and Trails | Bellevue, WA
At 320 acres, the Mercer Slough Nature Park is the largest of Lake Washington’s remaining fresh water wetlands and Bellevue’s largest park. Featuring more than seven miles of trail systems, it includes trails for jogging and bicycling, along with more rustic trails for environmental education and wildlife viewing, and even a kayak launch with a canoe loop. The trail system connects to the Lake to Lake Trail, Newcastle Beach Park, Winter’s House Visitor Center and Blueberry farm, for which our team provided planning, public meetings, and design. The park hosts the Winter’s House, Bellevue’s only historic site, overlooking the blueberry fields and elevated boardwalk system built to traverse the nearly 100 ft deep peat bog below. Our landscape architect team also designed the three-sided kiosk featuring a green roof at the Mercer Slough Environmental Learning Center.
